Zakat Calculator
Estimate eligible wealth using a nisab value you provide.
How to use this tool
Enter a positive nisab value, then the values of eligible cash, gold, silver and business assets in the same currency. Enter only liabilities you have confirmed are deductible. Confirm the lunar-year condition before calculating.
A worked example
For an illustrative nisab of 20,000 and eligible net wealth of 30,000, this model gives 30,000 × 2.5% = 750 if the applicable lunar-year condition is met. The nisab in this example is not a current market value.
How it works & what to check
This is a simplified wealth estimator: max(eligible assets − deductible liabilities, 0) × 2.5%, applied only when the entered threshold and year condition are met. It does not implement different schools of jurisprudence. Asset eligibility and deductions require separate assessment.

Common questions
Why do I enter the nisab myself?
Its currency value changes with the valuation basis and market prices. Use a current value and method from a trusted local authority.
What happens below nisab?
The calculator displays zero under its selected assumptions rather than applying 2.5% regardless of the threshold.
Does this determine my religious obligation?
No. It does not assess every asset type, lunar-year detail, business situation or school-specific rule. Confirm your inputs and circumstances with a qualified scholar.
